Keeping it real.

I have waited a long time to write this, but not because I have not been thinking of all my friends and family that have been waiting for an update. It has been hard to know what to write. There have been nights where I feel profound others where I am not sure how I made it through the day. I figured God had not laid it on my heart to write, but here it goes.

We arrived in Haiti on October 17, 2014 and everything could not have gone better. Two adults, four kids, 18 plastic totes weighing 60 pounds each, 6 carry-ons, 5 backpacks and a guitar all arrived safely with nothing damaged or lost. God was with us.

We arrived to a newly renovated house which is such a blessing. God has answered all our prayers in what we would want in a house if we ever moved. We now have two bathrooms!!! Joel has his own bathroom now so he is very happy about that.

Cooking has not been nearly as bad as I was anticipating. Joel is able to go to the Dominican Republic right now so that is very helpful. This has been easier with the purchase of a new moto. As many of you know Joel two years ago had to sell his Harley Davidson so being able to ride a motorcycle again has brought life back to him.

He is able to purchase meat and cheese there for a reasonable price. There are always fresh produce in near by markets. You eat what is available but it is always good.
Agape Flights is the missionary support group that delivers us supplies. When you send us boxes of blessings they will be the ones to deliver our packages. They were awesome and made sure all our Christmas present arrived on time. We love Thursdays because it is like Christmas all year. This is the only day we receive mail. If you would like to learn more visit there website Agape Flights.

In Haiti our favorite adventure to take is to the ocean. There are beautiful beaches. It is paradise a wonderful place to recharge. Amazingly we have not really burned in the sun yet.

Overall we are doing great we love our new home! We are so excited to see what God has planned for us. I am sorry that this has taken so long but there has been a lot to process. We love all our neighbors and our COTP family. Looking forward to keeping you updated often.

Thanks You to all the prayers and financial support we have received. We love you all and pray someday that you will be able to visit us and see what your small sacrifices mean.
